How to find the owner or decision maker at a restaurant
Find the person responsible for restaurant oil collection using public business information and clear, respectful qualification questions.
The person greeting guests may not choose the restaurant's used cooking oil provider. Finding the right decision maker helps you have a useful service conversation and avoid repeating your pitch to people who cannot act on it.
Ask about responsibility first
Use a straightforward question: Who handles used cooking oil collection and vendor agreements for this location? At an independent restaurant it may be the owner or general manager. At a franchise it may be a franchise operator, area manager, or purchasing contact.
Ask for a suitable time and business contact channel. A short conversation outside the busiest service period can be more productive than a long pitch during lunch. Make it easy to redirect you to the correct person.
Use public business sources to prepare
Start with the restaurant website, its contact page, published leadership profiles, and public business records where available. A listed company officer is not necessarily the person managing oil service. Confirm the role directly rather than assuming ownership means operational authority.
Keep your research focused on business information. You do not need personal addresses or private family details to explain a collection service.
Bring a reason to talk
Lead with a specific operational question: Are missed pickups, container capacity, or unclear service terms creating problems? Then describe how your actual service addresses the concern. Do not promise a rebate or schedule before you understand volume and can deliver the service.
Record the person's role, location coverage, preferred contact method, and agreed next step. If a central office manages multiple locations, ask about its process rather than trying to bypass it at individual kitchens.
Growing a reliable restaurant network takes organized follow-up and dependable service. Growing a reliable outlet for collected oil deserves the same attention.
