What information does a bulk UCO buyer need for a quote
Request a useful bulk used cooking oil quote with your location, current inventory, monthly supply, quality information, and transportation needs.
A useful used cooking oil quote starts with a clear description of the supply. “What do you pay for oil?” leaves the buyer without the location, quantity, quality, and freight information needed to discuss a transaction that fits your business.
Use the same inventory summary when approaching buyers. This helps you compare their responses on the same basis and reduces follow-up questions. The information below is a starting point; each buyer may request additional details.
Separate available inventory from future collection volume
State how much oil is ready now and include the unit. Then give your expected monthly supply and the likely timing of your next load. If your route is new or seasonal, describe that uncertainty instead of presenting an estimate as a firm recurring commitment.
Zeitco's application asks about monthly loads, with choices from less than one load to five or more. It uses a rough load estimate of 6,000–6,400 gallons or 45,000–48,000 pounds. Those figures help describe your operation; they are not a guaranteed conversion, a vehicle loading instruction, or an accepted shipment weight.
Provide the location where the oil is stored
Give the city, state, and ZIP code of the inventory, rather than only your company's mailing address. Explain whether you are asking about pickup or can discuss delivery. The storage location and transportation arrangement help determine whether a proposed sale is commercially practical.
A nationwide buying conversation does not mean every pickup has identical costs or arrangements. Ask who is responsible for freight and whether it is included in the offer or charged separately.
Describe the material and available testing
Identify the oil type and its condition. Explain whether it is raw, settled, filtered, or processed, and share any available testing. If a result relates to an earlier load rather than the current tank, say so.
Do not invent FFA or MIU figures because a buyer asks for them. Say that testing is unavailable and ask what information or sampling process is needed. Disclose known contamination concerns before transportation is booked.
Explain storage, loading, and timing
Describe the tanks or containers holding the inventory and any access restrictions relevant to loading. Provide your preferred timing and identify the person who can coordinate at the site. Ask which loading details the buyer or carrier needs before a shipment is arranged.
If your requested date is flexible, say that too. A useful inquiry distinguishes an oil availability date from a confirmed pickup appointment. Do not dispatch a vehicle until the necessary transaction and transportation arrangements have been agreed.
Example of a clear collector inquiry
Illustrative example: “We collect used cooking oil in central Florida. We estimate 5,800 gallons are available in storage near Orlando and expect roughly one load per month as our route grows. The oil is settled but not otherwise processed. We do not have a current laboratory result. We would like to discuss pickup options and what testing information you need before quoting.”
This example is not a purchase offer or a statement that Zeitco accepts that particular volume or condition. Its value is the separation of known information, estimates, and unanswered questions.
Ask what the quoted number includes
When you receive a response, confirm whether the price is per gallon or pound, whether it is a pickup or delivered price, and how quantity and quality affect settlement. Ask about offer validity, freight, adjustments, rejection terms, and the payment trigger.
For a comparison method, read how to compare bulk UCO buyer offers. A higher headline rate may not produce higher net proceeds once different costs and accepted quantities are considered.
Request a buying conversation with Zeitco
Zeitco buys used cooking oil from U.S. collectors and bulk suppliers and sends same-day wires after weighing and testing are complete. Share your inventory summary so the team can discuss purchasing fit, quality information, and transportation.
